Parking at Centennial Hall in Wrocław awarded the European Standard Parking Award (ESPA). This is the most prestigious award in the parking industry. The project was designed and executed as part of a public-private partnership (PPP) by Budimex Parking Wrocław – a company belonging to Budimex SA.
The ESPA awards were established by the European Parking Association (EPA) to improve the quality of services provided to customers by the parking industry. Receiving the award was based on the evaluation of various elements of the project: lighting, entrances/exits, parking surfaces, pedestrian routes, ramps, signage, safety devices, and overall user comfort. The award ceremony took place on September 16 during the first International Parking Seminar in Krakow. The awards were presented by the Polish Parking Industry Organization – the EPA representative in Poland. Budimex Parking Wrocław was represented by its CEO, Jerzy Angrocki, and board member Zbigniew Kamecki.
– “We are honored that our project, created under the public-private partnership formula, has been recognized with such a prestigious award. Especially since we are the first in Poland to receive it.” – expressed CEO Angrocki with satisfaction.
ESPA is awarded to multi-storey public parking facilities that meet a range of quality requirements. European Parking Standards ensure comfort and safety for parking users.
The Wrocław parking facility aligns with the global trend of relocating parked cars from streets and city centers to specially designed parking infrastructure. Its three levels accommodate 792 spaces, including 9 for people with disabilities and 20 for buses. It is adjacent to the historic Hala Stulecia, which allowed the surrounding exhibition areas to be freed from cars. This is one of the few projects of its kind in Poland and the first within the Budimex Group realized under a public-private partnership. Budimex Parking Wrocław, part of Budimex SA, designed, executed, and financed the project on behalf of Wrocław’s Hala Ludowa Company Ltd., and will operate it until the end of the concession agreement on August 31, 2042. After this period, the city of Wrocław will take over supervision of the facility.
Winning the ESPA award confirms that Parking at Centennial Hall in Wrocław meets European standards of quality, safety, and comfort. This distinction places the facility among the best parking facilities in Poland and Europe.
