The development of urban transport networks without an adequate parking system is impossible – argue the organizers of the first International Parking Seminar, which will take place in Kraków in mid-September. Representatives of Budimex Parking Wrocław will participate in the event.
Over 50 international organizations, representatives of foreign and Polish urban agglomerations are coming to Kraków to discuss the modern challenges of parking management. We will jointly assess the challenges of local parking policies, the functioning of paid parking zones, but we will also talk about the present and future of urban mobility – says Maciej Mosiej from the Board of the Polish Parking Industry Organization, one of the seminar organizers.
The seminar, aimed at exchanging views and experiences on the functional, legal, economic, and organizational conditions of parking systems, will be accompanied by two workshop sessions dedicated to parking issues. Both sessions will take place on September 15. The first, organized as part of the Push&Pull project, will be led by Polish and international experts.
One of the key presentations in this section will be a lecture by Mr. Giuliano Mingardo from Erasmus University Rotterdam. He will discuss new trends in parking policy, particularly the development of urban policies in this area – emphasizes Maciej Mosiej from POBP.
The afternoon session, organized by the European Parking Association and Polis, will serve as an introduction to the international parking seminar that will take place the following day, September 16, 2016, focused on shaping urban mobility. The event will conclude with the presentation of the first European Parking Standard (ESPA) Award to a parking facility in Poland.
The event is created in collaboration with the European Parking Association – an organization that has supported cooperation and the exchange of experiences between professional national parking associations since 1983 and consults on trends and solutions developed by the European Commission and other entities involved in urban mobility, Polis Network – which brings together European cities and regions to develop innovative technologies and policies for local transport, the Communication Systems Department of the Kraków University of Technology, the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Communication of the Republic of Poland in Kraków, and the Małopolska District Chamber of Civil Engineers in Kraków.
